The <a href=\"https:\/\/txgcp.squarespace.com\/standupforstem\" target=\"\">Stand Up for STEM Awards<\/a> recognize and elevate the work of incredible individuals and organizations in Texas advancing women and girls in STEM.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The TxGCP MWM-TX Stand Up for STEM Mentor Award recognizes a STEM Professional engaged in mentoring women and\/or girls in STEM. Awardees must demonstrate a passion for encouraging girls and women to pursue a STEM career, develop others via formal and informal mentoring relationships, and inspire others as a role model by showing what it takes to succeed in their chosen profession. The 2020 TxGCP MWM-TX Stand Up for STEM Mentor Award is presented to:<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Margaret Baguio, Program Manager, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tsgc.utexas.edu\/\">Texas Space Grant Consortium<\/a>, The University of Texas at Austin<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\">Renika Atkins, Executive Director, <a href=\"https:\/\/txgcp.squarespace.com\/Resources%20Inspiring%20Success%20and%20Empowering\">Resources Inspiring Success and Empowering (RISE)<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">The TxGCP MWM-TX Stand Up for STEM Educational Organization Award recognizes K-12 schools, preK schools or non-profits, educational non-profits and similar organizations that demonstrate a commitment to engaging STEM mentors and role models in programs encouraging women and girls to pursue STEM careers, increasing the diversity of those pursuing STEM careers, and retaining women and girls who enter the STEM education pipeline The 2020 TxGCP MWM-TX Stand Up for STEM Educational Organization Award is presented to:<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esc1.net\/stem\">Region One STEM Center<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegemscamp.org\/\">The GEMS Camp<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/talkstem.org\/\">talkSTEM<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">The TxGCP MWM-TX Stand Up for STEM Educator Award recognizes individual educators or educational teams from K-12 schools, preK schools or non-profits, educational non-profits and similar organizations that demonstrate a commitment to engaging STEM mentors and role models in programs encouraging women and girls to pursue STEM careers, increasing the diversity of those pursuing STEM careers, and retaining women and girls who enter the STEM education pipeline. The 2020 TxGCP MWM-TX Stand Up for STEM Educator Award is presented to Dr. Ariel Taylor, Assistant Professor of Practice, UTeach, College of Natural Sciences, The University of Texas at Austin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The TxGCP MWM-TX Stand Up for STEM High School Award recognizes a STEM High School Student or Student Group\/Organization engaged in mentoring women and\/or girls in STEM. Awardees must demonstrate a passion for encouraging girls and women to pursue a STEM career, embrace available STEM activities and demonstrates leadership in these activities, and inspire others by showing enthusiasm and commitment to pursuing a STEM career.
